Have you ever tried surströmming? If you haven’t, well, good for you! ;)
However, if you like to discover the quirky sides of Sweden as much as I do, I strongly recommend opening a can of this stinky fish from Sweden at least once. Just to experience the smell, and to be able to join the conversation about how awful it really is.
When I asked my colleagues in my shared office if they had any experiences with surströmming, I was surprised to hear that most of them had never tried it or even smelled it. And since I once made a video opening a can of this fermented herring, joined by dogs (see video further below), I thought, let’s create a maiden surströmming experience for my colleagues and film hit. Here is the result:
