Dreaming of owning a house is something many folks do. It’s great when this dream made of concrete, wood and metal comes true, and it’s even better if the house is in your favourite holiday spot.
Since I am considering buying a Swedish house myself, I have learned about the process by reading books and blogs about the topic as well as chatting to several real-estate agents, banks and experienced house buyers in Sweden.
On my blog, Hej Sweden, I have summarised the collected knowledge about buying a cottage, called sommarstuga (summer cottage) in Sweden. Turns out, people really liked it, especially Germans who love the idea of an idyllic house surrounded by nature, near a lake.
